LogistiCenter at Logan is strategically positioned to provide significant transportation advantages for logistics users.
LogistiCenter at Logan is within a one-day drive of 40 percent of the total U.S. population including the major markets of New York City, Baltimore, Boston and Washington, D.C. It is halfway between New York City and Washington, D.C., in the heart of the Northeast Transportation Corridor. It provides exceptional access to the U.S. interstate system — including the toll-free I-295, the New Jersey Turnpike (I-95), the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76) and I-476:
The park is served by two Class 1 railroads – the Norfolk Southern Railway and CSX Transportation. Dual-rail access is provided by the SMS Rail Lines, a custom rail-freight short line that has been serving the 28-county Delaware Valley Region since 1994. To learn more, visit www.smsrail.com.
LogistiCenter at Logan is only 12 miles southwest of the Philadelphia International Airport. The airport’s commercial airlines and the 200-acre cargo handling facility handle more than 604,000 tons of cargo and mail every year.
Although ports along the New Jersey and New York coasts have been preferred by shippers due to their convenience, logistics experts are now looking for alternative transportation routes due to the congestion of the coastal ports. Port access from LogistiCenter at Logan not only provides the ideal inland alternative today, but will become an even more significant gateway for commerce and trade in the future.
The Philadelphia Regional Port Authority’s four deep-water international terminals are within 16 miles of the park. Shipping ports at Philadelphia, Camden, Salem and Wilmington provide easy access to the Atlantic Ocean via the Delaware River.
The South Jersey Port Corporation has signed a formal agreement with Gloucester County to develop a new $250,000,000, 190-acre, deep-water port facility along the Delaware River in Paulsboro, NJ, about three miles from LogistiCenter at Logan. The new port will join the two existing ports at Camden and Salem, which combined handled more than 3,500,000 tons of international bulk, break-bulk and container cargo in 2005. As part of the project, the county plans to build an overpass connecting I-295 to the new port, which will also be served by SMS Rail Lines. Ultimately, LogistiCenter at Logan tenants will be able to ship goods directly from the park to the port. To learn more, visit www.philaport.com and www.southjerseyport.com.
